Welcome back to Dillon Heffer, Daniel Iverson, Neha Raja and Heidi Paterson... and a BIG WELCOME to our new JGT members - Louis Baker, Ava Allen, Aliya Allen and Ethaen Drake.
Our Junior Green Team and coordinating staff have been working hard to come up with ideas on how to make the roads around our school safer. Parents, staff and students often comment on how dangerous it is for our students to be crossing a main road to get to school every morning. We are petitioning to get a lollipop lady at or near the roundabout on Safety Bay Road so students are able to cross safely onto Baldivis Road. To kick off Term 4 as healthily and actively as possible, our Junior Green Team hosted BSC's SIXTH Footprint Friday! Our team is getting pretty confident at running this school-wide event and more and more kids are getting involved which is fantastic to see! On Monday of week 10, Term 3, the Junior Green Team conducted the end of term TravelSmart Survey. The results from the survey are shown below. We are so happy to see that our hard work is paying off and we are seeing an improvement in students using active transport to get to school! We calculated that 68% of students at BSC used active transport to get to school and only 32% are using the car!
