Nedlands Primary School Connecting Schools Grant

The School has been steadily progressing through the Connecting Schools Grant which we were awarded at the start of 2015. Thank you to the= Nedlands Primary School P&C Association, who is funding 50% of the grant expenses, and was required for the application for the grant to be successful.

So far the School is on track with the following programs and equipment installations:

1. Bike racks for 50 bikes

Term 4 Bike Education

On Thursday 29 Oct 2015 all out Year 4 students participated in a series of four of Bike Education lessons as part of their Sports Program.  The bike education was run through the WestCycle Bike Skills Program and was part of the School's successful Connecting Schools Grant. The series culminated in an out of school ride under the watchful eye of instructors, school staff and parent volunteers on 3rd Dec 2015.

National Ride2School Day - Friday 4th March 2016

This years celebration of all things riding and walking to school is set for Friday 4th March.

Term 4 Hands Up Travel Survey

On Thursday 5 November 2015 we held our sixth 'hands up' survey. This was our best ever survey showing the effects of the bike education classes that we ran with our year four students during Term 4.

Overall our active transport was 52% (195 students) compared to 43% (158 students) in Sep 2015. 

Our accumulated results were:

  • 5 (1%) caught the bus or train - compared to 3 (1%) in Sep 2015.
