On Tuesday 22nd March we held our Cycle to School Day Breakfast. Children were encouraged to walk, ride or catch public transport to school and receive a healthy breakfast on arrival. Breakfast included cereal and fresh fruit. On the morning we had 75 children attend the breakfast, which was pleasing to see. On Thursday 17th March, Redcliffe Primary School relaunched our TravelSmart campaign for 2011. During the school assembly our TravelSmart children along with Nichola Brydon, City of Belmont TravelSmart Officer, spoke to the whole school and parents about new and old incentives for this year. Our new incentives included a passport system for the children walking and riding to school and establishing a Walking School Bus.…Continue
After the launch of our TravelSmart program last year an article about the schools initiatives was published in the September issue of the Belmont Bulletin. I have included a copy of the article below.
At the end of last year we received our TravelSmart sign from the Department of Transport displaying our silver level sticker. On the 15th February we proudly put our sign on display underneath our school sign on Stanton Ave.
