We had our first meeting today with our student volunteers who are 5 children from year 6. The children are all very excited for the plans for our new committee and came to the meeting with lots of wonderful and bright ideas. They have been tasked with coming up with a name for the new committee and this will then launch into a school wide competition to design a poster promoting the committee and the sentiment behind it.
The children had some fantastic ideas for the future including…Continue
With bridge works in full swing, it was impossible to organise a full ride to school on National Ride Safely to School Day, from a safety perspective, but a few of our 'hard-core' cyclists were determined to mark the event.
Our Decorate Your Wheels was held on Thursday, 19th March. We had 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Juniors and Seniors. Ist prize is a helmet and 2nd & 3rd prizes are a choice of water bottle or hat (these are all from the Rewards.) The Travel Smart Team will present the winners with their prizes at assembly on Friday.

We went on an excursion to Perth, to the International Women's Day breakfast. It was a big cooked breakfast and there were interesting speakers.
We caught the bus home and had a lot of fun on the bus.
There was an advertisement on the bus and this gave us the idea of presenting our International Women's Day excursion talk as a news broadcast.
Wasn't sure where to send my Hands Up Survey results from our Ride To School Day event, so I thought I would just post them up here. :))Continue

In our announcement we said, "Please come to school in a TravelSmart way on Fridays … remember this is a healthy activity, reduces greenhouse gases from cars from going into the atmosphere and lessens traffic congestion around…Continue
