Happy Team

The Waggy team were very happy this week as they have their new team shirts. The team is very committed with all students doing a great job.  Numbers were down abit this week as Wednesday was a rainy morning here.  Photos of the team in their shirts coming.

Warnbro Walker Update

We have had a Junior and Senior winner for each of our counts, but to start with just one mannequin. Ms Riley got another mannequin so now we have a Junior Warnbro Walker AND  a Senior one to award for each count. The Warnbro Walkers are given to the Junior and Senior classes with the highest Active Transport participation rates.

Our goal for Term 2 is for at least 50% of the students in every class choosing Active Transport which is walking, cycling, scootering or using public…

24 April 2015 TravelSmart Meeting

Connecting Schools Grant was successful - Congratulations to everyone involved.

The plan for the year is to have all the items in the grant established within the year. The list is as follows:

  1. Bike Racks for 50 bikes - so far 40 have been created. Now looking at bike racks for parent bike parking
  2. Modify entrances to two bike storage areas - to obtain quotes before next meeting

Bridge-works complete, GSG Walk2School day back on!

At last the Lower King Bridge road works are complete and our much awaited GSG Walk2School Day can go ahead!

Get your walking shoes ready for Thursday 30th April 2015.

We will meet once again at 8.00am in Coraki Park (the little park near the Lower King Bridge) for our walk through the bush track and along our new pathway to school—a beautiful way to start the day for students, parents and siblings alike.

Launch of new RAC road safety education program

The RAC is launching a fun, new road safety education program for primary school students covering bicycle, pedestrian and passenger safety.

The program provides access to in class presentations, road safety incursions and an interactive, multi-level game that teaches children important road safety skills – all whilst having fun!

What a baseline to work from!

On the 27th of March 2015 we completed our first Travel Smart survey by asking each classroom, with a show of hands, how they got to school that day?

The results below show we certainly like to walk and use two wheels to get around here - especially when compared with the W.A. average.
