Through our Travel Smart Action Plan we are aiming to promote safe and healthy choices for the people in our school community as they travel to and from school and home everyday.

Last week I had the opportunity to visit the South Perth PS assembly and I was really excited to see that they have a Golden Show Award for the class that achieves the best results by walking, riding or catching the bus to school. The award was won by a Year 3 class with 62% of children walking or riding that fortnight. Hi TS Teams! The CAPANS final report launch was held yesterday at Morley Senior High School. The first Western Australian CAPANS was completed in 2003 to gather information on physical activity participation, dietary intake and body measurements. At the TravelSmart Workshop Rosalie Primary students, teachers and parents developed an action plan for the school. After the workshop, the school developed an additional action plan - these actions have been incorporated into the attached action plan.
Over the past two weeks we have had the Schwheelies team at the school teaching selected students from Years 5-7 about bike safety. Today we spoke at the school assembly about the things we did at the TravelSmart Workshop. We told both parents and students about the ideas we have to encourage walking and riding to school.
