A MASSIVE congratulations to the DLA2 class at Madeley Primary.
Miss Statkus and her class had an amazing 95% of students walked altogether on Walking Wednesday and Fuel Free Friday.
What an amazing improvement from just one class in as little as 7 weeks. They have progressed from a low 32% all the way to 95%.
Super impressed with all of their hard work, they have set an awesome example for the other classes who will be striving to beat that…Continue

As the Walk to School Interschool Competition nears the end I am quite pleased with the school's results. Every Wednesday approximately a quarter of the school from PP-year 6 have been choosing active transport. We are hoping to boost the numbers for the last week of the comp. The school board passed comment that the car park appears less congested on Wednesday mornings.
I had a meeting with the year 6 sports captains, who as part of their role have also become the student…Continue
We are so pleased with our amazing results this term.
Approximately 80 students throughout the school walked, rode or scooted on EVERY Walking Wednesday and Fuel Free Friday throughout term 2.
We did not originally anticipate such great enthusiasm towards the program and have now been left with a slight dilemma. Although our excursion was going to be such an epic day out for the students we now have too many students who would be awarded with the excursion. So we have…Continue
Southwell Primary already has a lot of walking students but we are hoping to gain information from a survey and get a target group together. People that are close enough to walk but don't !!! Then I want to target our scooter riders and focus on their safety. Helmets are so important to protect our brains! First step, get a student committee together. Hmm where to begin... Karinda Fragall

At St. A's we decided to reuse our STRide to School board from last year to record the numbers of students participating in the TravelSmart Interschool competition.
We have been using different colour dots for each day and the year 6 TravelSmart team have been monitoring and recording the results.
It has been great to see the year 6 TravelSmart team work so independently and with great organisation to ensure that the board is out each Wednesday and Friday and that students…Continue
Not only did the rain come tumbling down today, our TravelSmart percentage came tumbling down too! We are very pleased it rained even though it didn't help our result.
However, the Walking School Bus people rugged up and danced between the drops! Three cheers for the Walking School Bus!
Hey, great being the top member for TravelSmart news this month! Thank you.

The weather was on our side last week as 65% of our students walked on the cold morning and warmed up with a yummy warm milo. Check out the photos below. Thanks to our local IGA, everyone who participated enjoyed a warm milo and seemed to really appreciate it. We had the local paper come down and lots of helpers to help out. Our flags and posters went up and we sent out promo tickets to the younger children to encourage them to get their mums and dads active in supporting our cause.…Continue
For the past four weeks Success PS TravelSmart team has been promoting Active Transport through our intra school competition, with every class competing against each other. Every Thursday we survey the entire school to see which class has improved the most and the winning class receives the TravelSmart Bear as their trophy. This weeks winning class was the Year 3s in LC3.5 who's results have increased from 22% on 10th May to 53% on 20th June. Which is a fantastic 241%…Continue
Hello again this is the Waggy TravelSmart team.
Last week we were in the Midwest newspaper. We were very excited to see our photo in the local newspaper. Yesterday it was our TravelSmart Wednesday and we had 133 children walk, skate, scoooter, bus and ride. It was a very successful morning. We were also very excited to hear that we have more than 1000 points so we are doing well with our points. We are looking forward to having a breakfast for the children that walk, skate,…Continue
Coolbinia PS showed an improvement in the number of students coming to school in a TravelSmart way today. We noticed more parents recorded walking with student walkers and riders this week.
We are making progress but some schools do much better than us. We will continue to promote the special Strideboard competition.
