You can change the world by changing your trip to school!
The trial walk on Monday went well, we walked also with Mandy and daughter Ava (preprimary). We thought it would be a good idea to make meeting time 8:10-8:15 at Donald Way Reserve for a 8:15 sharp departure. It took us about 20 mintutes.
Issues as below.
We are excited to announce that Anureet from Westminster Primary School is the winner of the Get on Board Website Competition.
I was lucky enough to pay Anureet, and the rest of Westminter Primary School, a visit this morning to present her with her $150 gift voucher. Anureet’s teacher, Miss Shiminski, was also more than happy to receive the $500 voucher on behalf of the school.
See some photos of the all fun below!

After we presented Sharni with her Wonderful Walker prize, we offered (the following week in our designated TS time) to show her class the blog we were going to write about Walk Safely to School Day.
On the 16th of June, I went to Room 10 to show the teacher and students how to get onto the TS website. Once we were at the TS site, we used the interactive whiteboard so that everyone could see really well. The class was very excited, especially because there was a photo of a classmate!…Continue

Our team is still going along nicely with all members particpating and doing a great job. The team has just met to select some raffle prizes for our end of semester raffle in 2 weeks time. Our numbers have been down a bit over the past few weeks as we have had some very blustery mornings, making walking unpleasant. We hope the news of great raffle prizes will boost participation in the coming weeks.
Over the last few weeks on the South Route, we've trialled a few different routes to school to identify the safest and easiest route for our children.Continue
Several months ago now we conducted a school-wide survey which was given to each family within their school asking about the level of interest they had in a concept of a walking bus. First off we gave an explanation as to what walking buses entailed. We then asked questions such as "Would you like to volunteer as a 'team leader' on a bus route for a small group of children ?" and "Would you like your child/children to be involved in this?" We got at least 30 positive responses from this…Continue
