Coolbinia PS will be attending the TravelSmart presentation day at City Farm on Wednesday 6 November. It will be a happy celebration of of all the different ways we are being TravelSmart! It will be fabulous to hear what other schools are doing ... this will inspire our students for 2014!!!

Hi Everyone. We are the new Term 3 TravelSmart team. Today we prepared for a TravelSmart assembly item. We are going to announce the class winners from last term's Interschool Competition.
Planning for this term was also started. We are going to focus on Fume Free Fridays and award prizes for the most active classes on a random basis, so students will hopefully walk or ride to school just in case it is a prize day!

We had our first ever Travelsmart breakfast on the last Wednsday of term 2.
We had lots of cerals and fruit that everybody enjoyed.We had over 150 people participate on 1 day!!!

Great start to the new term at Falcon. We had 57% of the students walking this week. Five of our classes had over 75% of their students on feet or wheels. Must congratulated one of our year seven classes for their great efforts with 87% of the class engaged in active travel to school.
Success Primary School participated in the Inter-school competition on the ning in Term 3.
However we also ran an Intra-school completition at Success PS. Full results are attached here.

At Madeley Primary we were all so impressed and pleased with our Term 2 results that we have decided to continue our Walking Wednesday and Fuel Free Friday.
The travel smart committee have also come up with great activities to do throughout the term such as;
- Dress you bike up

After our fantastic reward afternoon Madeley was approached by the West Australian to be a part of an article about promoting kids walking and riding to school. The article was featured in the West Australian on the first Saturday on the holidays.
After an AMAZING term 2 we are over the moon to announce a 30% increase in students walking to school.
After such a positive term we had a reward afternoon for all those dedicated students who made the life style changing commitment to walk or ride every week.

"Grass Roots" grants (up to $2000) and "Community Partnerships" grants (up to $20,000) grants close in two weeks! In the past, TravelSmart schools have received funding for Bike Ed under the Grass Roots scheme.

Wow - what a busy term that was! Finally I have time to blog about what we have been up to. Obviously we have been participating the the Interschool Competition that was organised. We are very happy with our results. We surveyed all the classes every Wednesday morning and promoted the event as Walk to School Wednesday. Every Wednesday we worked out the overall percentage of students working to school and we also did the class percentages. We turned it into a class vs class competition aswell…Continue
At last the work has started on fencing the school. Rosie ( our champion parent) will be able to use the stencils to mark the footpath.
