Transperth Get on Board

During term 3, I have been using the Transperth Get on Board program during our Buddy Group session. On Friday afternoon's, our year 1-7 students integrate into Buddy Groups where they participate in a variety of different activities. During these sessions I have been discussing with the groups the different forms of transport and the rules associated with using public transport. At the end of each session, the children develop a poster of the rules they have learnt about.

Student Leadership Workshop Activities

Over the last few weeks our TravelSmart children have been working with Nichola to plan our Walk to School Day event for next term using ideas from the Arthur Orsini workshop we attended earlier this term. Our five children, Mikail, Breanna, Corey, Aleece and Sarah, have had an active role in the planning process for our event, 'Travel Fest.' Nichola visited us on Tuesday 23rd August to start the planning process and followed it up with another visit on Monday 12th…

New 'like' feature

Did you know that if you like a blog or photo on the TravelSmart ning you can now 'like' it on Facebook? If you don't have a Facebook account you can also like something by clicking on the 'thumbsup' symbol (you'll see it just at the bottom of this page too!).

To do a Facebook 'like' just click on the 'f like' symbol at the bottom of the blog/photo etc - if you add a comment it will also be posted up on your facebook profile!


So don't just share your TravelSmart news…

Walk to School Day

This activity will be held on 26th October. All students who are 'travel smart' (i.e. walk, ride, scoot or skate to school) will receive a sticker as they enter the school grounds, then have a morning tea provided the Town of Peppermint Grove later in the morning. Spot prizes will be given out as well.

Slow Bike Race

A slow bike race will be held at the school during the last week of Term 3. Students from Years 4 & 5, 6 & 7 will be able to enter this race.
