Our World Car Free day event was a success! The pre-post survey data showed more students came to school in a TravelSmart way for this special day. So our advertising - posters and PA announcements - helped to make the day successful.
Students were allowed to dress-up on this day so there was…Continue
The week before our Footprint Friday launch we conducted a hands up survey and the results were what we expected. During the year we have had a few events, however, this one by far had the best participation. We also conducted a hands up survey on the day of the launch and the the amount of students who walked, scooted or rode to school has been our best yet!. We hope to continue this and keep up the active travel to school. I have attached our data we have collected from our hands up…Continue
Loreto Nedlands held another Ride to School Day to mark the end of Term 3. Students took advantage of the glorious spring weather to ride, walk, scoot and skate to school. On this occasion we decided not to have a breakfast and the students played handball and danced to music instead. This change did not…Continue

Our TS Team will blog about path painting next term but I wanted to share some of our photos. They say a picture tells a thousand words, so here goes.
Firstly well done Team! 6 sets of templates were completed in just over an hour. Thankfully the spots we wanted to paint were quite close to school so we did a fair bit of path hopping! Great teamwork ensured everything was completed in the…Continue

Today was the grand launch of the Foot Print Friday and it turned out to be a great success. We had a lot of students who participated by walking, riding and scooting to school. The cousellors reminded students throughout the day to make sure their raffles tickets are placed in the Foot Print Friday tub. Three winners were then chosen out of the tub to win one of our fantastic Travelsmart prizes. Fingers crossed our team keeps up the good work by promoting this day every week so that active…Continue
Today we conducted the pre-survey in 12 classes for World Car Free Day.
We also put posters on display advertising World Car Free Day. For the pictures on the posters we used the drawings students gave us for the poster competition last term.
We are ready to do the PA announcement on Monday to encourage everyone to be TravelSmart on Tuesday 22 Sept for World Car Free Day.

John XXIII College is hosting a Travelsmart to school day with the Year 7 cohort in the last week of Term 4 2015. I will be presenting to the Year 7 homeroom teachers today and am hoping to gain their support.
I would like to host a Healthy Breakfast on the day. Has anyone had particular success with certain businesses in donating food items? e.g. Bakers delight/ Coles/ Woolies/ IGA?
I will keep an updated blog as my journey unfolds.

The launch of our Foot Print Friday is getting close and there has been a lot of excitement and involvement happening in order for this launch to be a success. Mrs Starbucks health class has made some amazing posters to put around the school. Our Travelsmart Smarties have also been promoting this launch by reminding all students on the P.A system during their Friday afternoon radio broadcast. I have attached some pictures of the students posters and the information that was posted in our…Continue
The Travelsmart team is feeling very organised this term and have already organised our next event. Starting Week 1 next term (Term 4) students will be given a scavenger hunt to complete as they walk to school. The students have the whole month of October to get this completed. When the scavenger hunts have been…Continue
We mailed interested families but have not received much response . I think we need to approach the school community via our school Facebook and email as well as the newsletters they put out fortnightly. So back to the grindstone tabulating the email addresses!
Bike Ed has been going well. The students learnt how to dismount their bikes safely. They also have learnt how to turn properly. They show by their hands which way they are turning. …Continue
