All students in the school had the opportunity to participate in the Colouring In competition for Walk to School Day this year. The TravelSmart team designed the colouring in competition this year and decided to decorate a shoe. We were looking for the most creative designs!

This year we organised a scavenger hunt for 3 of the classes to participate in for Walk to School Day. This activity also coincided with our Literacy Based Activity.

On Wednesday 24th October our school participated in National Walk to School Day. Overall we had 153 students join us for the healthy breakfast in the morning (which is 69% of the school)! These results were fantastic! We had some prizes to raffle off to the students who walked, rode or scootered to school. The first prize this year was a $50 voucher to our local bike store in Belmont. Our Term 4 TravelSmart Team meet for the first time this week. We are Year 6 students and our names are: Amy, Baden, Isabella, Mark and Seham. At our meeting we planned activities for the Walk to School Day on Wednesday 24th October, made advertising posters and planned a quiz for participating students. The overall winner of the Walk to School Wednesdays program for term 3 was Mrs Worthington’s year 2/3 class! They were extremely excited to win the overall prize. Their class was the most motivated class throughout the program.
The winning class was announced at the assembly on Thursday 27th September. The TravelSmart team awarded each student in the winning class a certificate at the assembly.
This term our TravelSmart team ran a program called ‘Walk to School Wednesdays’. The program was used to encourage students to walk to school every Wednesday by holding a class vs class competition every week.
On Wednesdays the travelsmart team worked out the percentage of students in each class that walked to school. A total of all the scores were kept on our amazing travelsmart board.
