You can change the world by changing your trip to school!
Our special Walk Over October day ran smoothly. At the start of the day we wore our TravelSmart T-shirts and stood at all the school gates handing out stickers and raffle tickets to everyone who came to school in a TravelSmart way. All the little Kindies and PrePrimaries were given stickers anyway to encourage them to be TravelSmart in the future.
When the siren went we drew the lucky 21 raffle tickets - 7 each for first, second and third prizes. Just before recess we…Continue
When Mrs Yates tried to register for WOO, she found out that the Heart Foundation would no longer be sponsoring it. We found out that there were LOTS of WOO stickers that needed to be used up, so we offered to take as many as we could have.
There were that many that Beth Goodall, from the HF, decided to deliver them. Mrs Yates asked Beth if she would like to meet the TS Team when she delivered the stickers back in September.
Last week, our Year 5 students took part in four days of bike safety lessons from the team at West Cycle. Students learnt how to prepare their bicycles to be visable on the road, how to ensure that their bike is safe and correct procedures for helmets, clothing and footwear. Once again, the program was supported by the City of Belmont.
Thank you West Cycle for an enjoyable and very practical course for our Year 5s.…Continue

Our new Term 4 TravelSmart team met today. We created posters to advertise our TravelSmart Day and prepared for the Hands-Up survey. We will do this survey on Thursday this week.
We also discussed why it is important to be TravelSmart. Being TravelSmart is a great way to keep fit and it also helps to reduce GreenHouse Gases going into the atmosphere.
Our October TravelSmart Day will be next week, on Friday 21st October. We will…Continue
We will be walking all over October as we say farewell to the final Walk Over October. Blogging about everything will have to come later!…Continue
On Monday of week 10, Term 3, the Junior Green Team conducted the end of term TravelSmart Survey. The results from the survey are shown below. We are so happy to see that our hard work is paying off and we are seeing an improvement in students using active transport to get to school! We calculated that 68% of students at BSC used active transport to get to school and only 32% are using the car! This number has decreased by 5.5% from our last survey in May, 2016 which is awesome to see! The…Continue
