Travel Fest 2011

On Wednesday 26th October we held our Walk to School Day ‘Travel Fest’. The day was organised by our TravelSmart children who dressed up as super hero mascots.

The day started with a healthy breakfast of cereal and fresh fruit for anyone who walked or rode to school. We had 74 children attend breakfast. On arrival at school, each child who ate breakfast received a Walk to School Day sticker and wristband.  The children also went into a raffle to win one of 10 gift…

Blogger of the month October - November

This months winner is the lovely Maryann (parent) from St Augustine's School in Belmont! She has blogged and shared some great TravelSmart milestones from the past couple of terms. The highlight was blogging one of the students (Lucas) story about Bike Ed. It was great to get a student's perspective of one of the TravelSmart programs this year.

Over the past few years Maryann's support and leadership in the implementation of the TravelSmart to School Program at St Augustine's School…

St. Augustine's Walking School Bus parent meeting

On the 27th June 2011 the St. Augustine's TravelSmart team and Nichola from DoT conducted a WSB parent information night and training session.

All who attended were really keen to get the WSB up and running but realised we are going to need the help of more parents to make it a reality.

Ultimately, we would love to run two buses - one on the Rivervale side of the school and one on the Lathlain side of the school.

Our next mission is to get another meeting day set and…
