You can change the world by changing your trip to school!

Overall our active transport was 43% (158 students) compared to 43% (188 students) in October 2014.
Our accumulated results were:

The Junior Green team at Baldivis Secondary College set out at 7.30 yesterday morning after some Vegemite toast and milo at breakfast club and handed out raffle tickets to all students rode or walked to school. Miss Gillett and myself were also out and about patrolling the gates and ensuring students were entering through the correct gates (I.e not the staff car parks) and as a result more students got their raffle tickets! As the year draws to a close, I am taking some time to reflect on what we have learned this year. We ran three Classroom competitions throughout the Winter, which were moderately successful. I have learned some lessons for next time:
Where possible children should be marked if absent, perhaps by the Teacher or Class parent rep if they are aware of absences. As only Active Travellers go to mark against their name, those left blank were assumed to be car users and in fact may not have…Continue

What a predicament to be in! 6 places and more than double that putting their hands up to be 2016 TSers! So, STEP 1: an introduction by both Student and adult TSers, then an "application" to be completed and returned ASAP.
STEP 2: read these and pick the best 6. Predicament 2: more than 6 sounded good!
STEP 3: discussion with TS Team and selection made with a contingency plan of a "reserve list."
STEP 4: meet with all applicants and explain the HOW of selection and…Continue

Thanks to our AMAZING Junior Green Team members for collating the data from our end of year whole school TravelSmart to School Survey at lunch time today! In comparison to our first TravelSmart Survey at the beginning of Semester 2, we have seen an increase by 5% of students riding to school which is fantastic to see! The data also shows a decrease by only 1% of students walking to school, number of students that catch the bus to school has stayed the same at 26%, while the number of…Continue
